Ribban Beach Camp
Malmö Adventure Center
We want people to discover all the fantastic experiences right at our own doorstep. We don’t have to travel to a different country to find beautiful beaches, met wildlife and challenge ourselves.
In the green house next to Brygga 1 (Kallbadhuset) an empty unused space has been recycled into Malmö’s very own Adventure Center. Here you will find paddling courses, rent kayaks or a SUP for a cruise or join our other adventures. You can also find out about all the great activities on offer in and around Malmö in our information center.
The Story
Ribban Beach Camp started as an idea during the summer of 2015 when we ran the campaign “Paddle for Nepal” at Ribersborgs beach to support the people affected by the April earthquake. The campaign raised 30 000 SEK through renting out kayaks and SUP, paddling courses and the kind support from friends and family. In the fall of 2015 we arranged the Back On Track Nepal expedition, a project to support sustainable development in the village of Syadul in central Nepal, made possible thanks to the campaign and the cooperation of The Search Adventures.
The Project
Ribban Beach Camp is also learning centre for youth. We are working with high schools and collages offering internships to students interested in adventure and nature tourism. Adventure and the outdoors is a great tool for personal development and capacity building and we want more youth to benefit from this experience.
For the last 10 years we have worked with young people in both Nepal and Sweden, giving them new opportunities through adventure sports, education and work practice. We believe that young people has an amazing potential inside of them, and that we need only to give them the space and encouragement to reach it.
