The Silwal Foundation is a grassroots organisation working in the fields of Empowerment, Education and Environment, focusing on youth and sustainable development.

The organization, based in Malmö Sweden, was founded after the Nepal earthquake in April 2015. All our project have a clear sustainable development profile, maximizing our positive effect to the environment and community. Our aim is for the projects to be self-sustainable within 5 years. This means we support the initial process, help build a solid platform and to empower the community. 

We believe sustainable development come from the grassroots. It must be grounded in reality and in the hearts of those involved – only then can it be a seed for change. 

Our journey started with the project Back on Track Nepal together with a group of experts and the loving people of the village of Syadul. We run a community recycling project, a tree plating project and continue to inspire the next generation of outdoor guides to work sustainably.
